ROLE LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER

TEAM PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

HOURS FULL TIME

LOCATION COPENHAGEN

START DATE NOVEMBER 1ST 2024

The Product Development team is responsible for the full product development cycle, from an idea to mass production. They are a group of collaborative and self-driven team members, who hold a large cross-disciplinary understanding and ownership of tasks. They are there to make a real difference – for the products, for the team, and, of course, for the customers.

As our new Lead Mechanical Engineer, you hold a leading role in the mechanical development of our products in close collaboration with the entire Product Development team and our external partners in Asia. With your extensive product-oriented engineering experience, you will oversee all phases of the development process. From initial concepts to final mechanical assemblies, you will be the key executor, transforming innovative ideas into precise, mechanical assemblies.

From overseeing mechanical engineering (ME) concept assemblies to ensuring they meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM) standards, you will consult and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and suppliers to ensure a seamless transition from product concepting through execution and mass production, while maintaining high-quality standards. Your dedication and expertise will help us deliver an exceptional experience to our customers.

Okay, let’s make things a little more concrete. Here’s what we expect your daily life to look like:

  • You will lead the mechanical development of new SOUNDBOKS projects.
  • You will mature the industrial design of SOUNDBOKS products and accessories towards manufacturing, focusing on designing for cost and manufacturing feasibility.
  • You will integrate and actively consider both hardware and acoustics into the mechanical design.
  • You will undertake 2D/3D CAD design. This means maturing industrial design into a mechanically manufacturable product through prototyping and CAD modelling.
  • You will build prototypes by hand in our workshop and order from outside to validate mechanical concepts, engineering and assemblies.
  • You will manage the DFM in collaboration with our team in China, suppliers, and external consultants.
